The 5602D/S IP Telephone is an entry-level telephone with two programmable call appearance/feature keys, ten fixed feature buttons, and display. The 5602D/S can run either the H.323 protocol, for integration with traditional Avaya IP Telephony Servers and Gateways, or the SIP protocol, for support of SIP Communications Servers such as the Avaya Converged Communications Server as well as third-party SIP proxies.

The standards-based Avaya 5602D/S IP Telephones, developed specifically to meet the needs of small and medium businesses, bring rich features and functions directly to the desktop, while also supporting desktop applications above and beyond telephony. Several models are available, ranging from entry-level IP telephones to those built specifically for demanding contact center environments. The 5600 series IP telephones are for use with the Avaya IP Office system.
